BAD, LUCK, GIRL

Funny story about this picture. Our professor John (the photography professor) was giving everyone side projects to work on. He picks out 3 words and we need to find pictures that describe the 3 words, (BAD, LUCK, GIRL). This was a hard project to do, you would witness the best moment but couldn't capture it, it was too late. He said that was part of the challenge. Outside one of the museums while I was snacking on gelato (judge me yes, I have eaten a ton of gelato on this trip but who knows when you'll be back to enjoy it huh) and we are people watching, one of my favorite things to do, and a dog literally ran chasing a ball and hit the back of this poor ladies legs completely knocking her over and her falling on her back and butt, it was the perfect photo op and we missed it. Yes I felt terrible for the lady don't think I just felt bad that we missed a picture.

Well luckily for Sarah she was able to capture my moment of BAD, LUCK, GIRL. As we were leaving Pere Lachaise cemetery Alexis and I ran into Sara and Carlos. We were chatting it up not paying attention and bam my BAD LUCK GIRL moment happened. Which its been the joke that we all keep having it happen. Well in Paris there are vents all over the city side walks, huge vents and sometimes they are blowing air out and sometimes not, stepping onto the vent not even paying attention to what I'm walking on the vent blows air like crazy and I am wearing my flowing skirt, running and trying to hold it down I know I gave the people at the stop light quite the show. Luckily they captured a reenactment of the moment. Yes I did it again for Sarah after everyone told me I had to take one for the team, but I also put my hands in the right places already prepared. The first time caught me off guard and I know the boys lined up the vest bas at the stop light got quite the show.

Thanks Sarah for sending me this hilarious photo.

Paris to Barcelona

Thursday the 31st was our travel day to Barcelona. It was also our art history final day. The train ride was planned to be about 6 hours long and the joke around the whole trip was that the final would take about the whole train ride. I was being a little cocky and thought there was no way it would take that long to write a final so when we got on the train I took a nap and took my time answering my questions. Then I realized it had been like 3 hours and I had only answered 1 question. 1 question out of 6. The thing about these questions are each question has 10 questions give or take in each one. Luckily our teacher extended the final from the end of the train ride to noon the next day. I am not kidding when I say that I think the test took me around 9-10 hours and I felt like I rushed threw the last question.

Last night in Paris

Today is my last day in Paris. I have mixed feelings. First off I love this city at night but have heard amazing things about Barcelona so I am ready to find out if they are true, second, we will be done with the school part so thats always nice, third, I love beaches and Barcelona will be the relaxation part of the trip. On our last night of Paris we (Alexis, Sami, and I) attempted to get to the padlock bridge and do a lock. It was an adventure in its self. We got to the bridge and it was too late at night that no one was selling locks, but we got to see the eiffel tower from afar and sparkle, thats always a treat. We stumbled upon some music in the metro station, which is always great, but people were dancing to it. I can't get enough of the music here. Then we wondered the city to find food and that took hours, we are very picky eaters because we don't want french food and we wanted foreign. When we finally decided on Italian the restaurant was closed so we wondered for another 30 minutes and stumbled upon this amazing Italian restaurant that happened to be right next the metro station (the right line direct to our place), which we barely got in before it closed. So I guess it ended up being a good night.

The padlock bridge.

The dancing in the metro station.

Day of the Dead

Today was the day of the dead. We headed to the Catacombs along with Pere Lachaise Cemetery. I was pretty sad to be kicked out of Pere Lachaise so early. They closed the cemetery at 6 and I didn't have enough time to wonder like I wanted too.
Here are just a few of the favorites taken from the day.

I loved the colors and shapes on this door to a crypt, amazing. The rust just adds that detail.

ENGAGEMENTS

I got to view my engagements finally. Yeah. I am actually very happy with them. I was so nervous because I normally don't wear that much make up. Todd even asked me if we were pretending to be different people for our engagements or something. Love that boy!
These are just a few of the shots!!

Lazy day in Paris

Tuesday was my lazy day. I honestly went to bed around 7:30 am after we got our free breakfast and slept til around 12:30. Then we laid around debating if we were going to do anything. We finally decided that we needed food and ventured off to find this thai food that Kassie, Elyse, and Alexis ate the other day. Luckily we ran into Kassie and Elyse at the pastry store and got directions. While on our way we ran into a few shopping spots, which weirdly enough has been rare for us in Paris. So we bought a few things and then headed to Thai, which was amazing by the way. Then we headed home. I needed a relaxing day after our all night last night. So unfortunately no pictures today.

Night out on the town

Monday after we went back to the Louvre and did the Da Vinci exhibit, which was amazing the girls headed to the shopping strip. Which I am not going to lie I was disappointed. In the process of heading back to the metro we ran into an Aussie that was lost and needed help. Come to discover he was just arriving in Paris and knew no one. We knew a bunch of the group would be going out and invited him to tag along. Its always fun to meet new people along the way of your journey. The night was pretty entertaining ending with us stealing a blanket from his hotel room (sorry Zak) and us girls going to see the sunrise at the eiffel tower. Freezing but worth it and we even got to take the metro home so it saved us on a cab fee, haha!

The girls out for the night!

Worst picture ever, but has to do!

Freezing waiting for the sunrise. Its coming guys I promise.

Attempting to stay warm.

Love these girls, hilarious.

Yeah the sun is finally up!

I'm freezing still though, burr!

My roomie and I.

We were wanting food, but places didn't open for another 45 minutes. Might as well head back to the hotel and get our free breakfast.

Sunday Funday Eiffel Tower climb

Sunday Funday! We decided to climb the eiffel tower today. I wanted to workout to prepare for the beach body for Barcelona in a few days. We got to climb to the second level but they wouldn't let us go all the way to the top. We had to pay more to take the elevator, I kind of wish we would have now. But oh well.

We climbed to the second level, sad we couldn't get to the very top.

The view from up there, gorgeous.

While waiting for food I loved this angle.

Waiting for the sunset and the eiffel tower to light up.

Hey, it lite up.

My midnight run for my yummy yogurt. I love this stuff.
